"Hannah’s not only a great tutor, but an amazing book club host. She has so much genuine passion for educating her peers. Along with that, she doesn't just plan on the whim. She puts her time into planning what books would be most beneficial and entertaining, while asking us about our preferences. Not only this, but rather than just assigning books that are considered historical works of literature, she has a deep understanding from the books she's assigned and gives her interpretations of the story. She asks questions that would make us think, and view the works of literature we read with a more open view, therefore enhancing our comprehension. For example, she gets us thinking about how dystopian pieces relate or differ from our time and future. She’s given us works from Charles Dickens, Mary Shelley and other masterpieces. Hannah’s also very considerate about our own separate lives as well. She’s understanding if the work is too much, but encourages us to take reading seriously. Hannah doesn't just work on books, she also goes into poetry, such as Shakespeare. She clarifies phrases that would be confusing for our generation, helping us understand older pieces of literature. Hannah’s also very patient with us. Rather than saying our answer is wrong, she takes the answer into consideration but steers us onto the correct one. She’s also very open minded about our views, and will praise our answers even if they weren't exactly what she was looking for, as long as we understood the general theme. I believe this is an important life skill that most tutors disregard. Unlike most tutors, Hannah connects to her peers on the topic, and encourages discussion. She has so much knowledge upon relating stories to our society,it really is impressive. I’d also like to say her tutoring is very effective. I got an A+ for my first test over a book in highschool, and got straight A’s for all my assignments over literature works during my honors literature class. As a transitioning student from middle school to high school, I’d like to say Hannahs guidance greatly helped me for my freshman year. I can guarantee Hannah will be a fantastic tutor, not just for her compassionate manner, but her ever growing knowledge and professionalism."
